Kap Verde won the champion’s sash at the 61st Trakehner Stallion Market 2023 in Neumünster. He has enormous charisma, is beautifully muscled with harmonious proportions and has excellent basic gait potential with an outstanding walk, very elastic and expansive movements with great rhythm. In canter he always moves uphill with great elasticity and scope. His temperament and first-class character are exemplary with plenty of inner calm.
His sire Helium was reserve champion at the 2015 Trakehner licensing and has proven to be a true-breeding dark horse. He has won medium (M) level dressage competitions and was highly placed up to Prix St. Georges. He has produced five licensed sons to date, including the champion stallions Rheinglanz (2020) and Ferrari Forever (2019). The dam, state premium and elite mare Kreta II, was reserve champion of the Schleswig-Holstein central mare inspections (ZSE) and part of the celebrated champion family at the Schleswig-Holstein state show with her full siblings Kosima and the licensed and multiple S-winning Kasimir. She has already produced several advanced (S) level dressage horses. The damsire Ivernel was a successful dressage horse with victories and placings up to advanced (S) level. Besides Kasimir, he has also produced other licensed sons: Prêt à Porter, Schönbrunn and Imposant.
The granddam, state premium and elite mare Karissima, was 1999 Champion Mare of the Year in Neumünster. She is a full sister of the successful advanced (S) level dressage horse Konradi and produced highly-awarded daughter Kosima, who was the 2003 Reserve Champion Mare of the Year and successful in tests for young riding horses. In the third generation there is Charly Chaplin, who won many advanced (S) level competitions under Christoph von Daehne and produced two licensed sons himself: Pyatt Charly and Polarzauber, the latter being highly successful in the sport. Ivernel’s sire Arogno, former vice national champion, appears again in the fourth generation. He is regarded as a trademark stallion in post-war Trakehner breeding. The dam line leads to the “Dohna’sche K-Familie” via the grey stallion Ginster. This very widespread branch of Kordel 107 produced the stallions Desperado, Kantstein, Karwendelstein, Kastellan, the licensing winners Kupferberg-Gold, Kennedy and King Arthur, Kompaß, Kopernikus, Koriander, Kornett II, Korsar, Kortez, Korvo, Kosmos, Kronjuwel, Kurfürst and Walhall as well as successful athletes such as Kleopatra and Korofino.
