The reserve champion of the Trakehner Hengstmarkt 2021 embodies in his presentation the combination of great breeding tradition and sportiness of the modern age with a role model function. The ambassador of one of the most prestigious Trakehner breeder houses bears his name with dignity, because both his father and mother are the figureheads of the elite Trakehner sport horse breeding of the von Schöning house – and this in a long succession of generations, supported by great sporting and breeding successes. “Double qualities in the best sense with great sporting talents at a high level” were attested to him on the occasion of his proclamation as reserve champion of the licensing, as well as “elastic basic gaits and, in particular, motivated and capable free jumping. A very special athletic combination that does justice to his ancestry and makes him a hopeful top performer for the future.”
His sire Hirtentanz has given new life to his sporty paternal line of the Sixtus-Habicht, and this above all on the performance stage. Before emigrating to the USA in 2020, he crowned his glittering sports career with more than 120 wins and placements in the advanced level course, including 46 wins and placements in FEI level competitions. To date, 152 offspring who have been successful in all disciplines up to and including advanced level are emulating their sire on the sports circuit.
Hirtentanz represents one of the most valuable mare dynasties in the Trakehner population and forms close family ties with the FEI level dressage stallions Hibiskus and Heinrich der Welfe, the advanced show jumping hero Heinrich der Löwe and the performance sire Herzruf.
His maternal line has its roots in the main stud of Trakehnen, as well as in the legendary Weil-Marbach thoroughbred Arabian breed and leads in its origins to Jasir ox, Cancara, Pregel and Burnus AAH, sires out of roots of noble blood of high prominence. His dam, the premium mare Dämmerung, daughter of the elite stallion Singolo, who was successful in FEI dressage competitions, is a sister of the licensing winner Donauruf, successful on the Grand Prix stage, the FEI dressage stallion and reserve champion Dürrenmatt and the top mare Dolce Luciana, today in the breed of Her Majesty Eilzabeth II. The third mother, Domina, is the dam of four stallions, including Dernier Cri (ex Donaukönig), victorious in FEI dressage competitions and dressage champion of Schleswig-Holstein. Performance-tested noble blood adorns Dein Erbe‘s heritage: the connection of the sport horse sire Exorbitant xx, highly respected in the Holstein breed, with Martin Plewa’s internationally successful eventing star Habicht, the Marbach sire legend Pregel and the powerful Poet xx as well as a line breeding on the great Habicht in 4./4. Generation convey sporting and breeding exclusivity.
