VIGARO
Prize money won by offspring > €850,000
Vigaro – a stallion with an international career in breeding and sport at the highest level. For many years, this top-class jumper has been a prime example of toughness and enthusiasm: he was the winner of international Grand Prix competitions over 1.60 m, ridden by Gerco Schroeder (NED), Roelof Bril (NED), Sevil Sabanci (TUR) and most recently in the young horse category with Fiete Constantin Krebs (GER), who rode him to fourth place in the German Junior Championships over 1.45 m in 2020, his last year of competition at the age of 18.
A striking number of his offspring from the Netherlands have made their breakthrough into the upper echelons of international show jumping, catapulting him into the top 100 best stallions worldwide. He already has three licensed sons. Vigaro now has numerous offspring from his short breeding career who are internationally successful in 1.45–1.60 m competitions and have won prize money of more than €850,000.
His sire, the internationally sought-after Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, is a benchmark for modern stallions and has produced numerous show jumping heroes. The powerful half-breed Renville, the dam’s sire, is a son of Courville xx out of a Farn dam, and the aforementioned Holstein stallion Farn, also known as the sire of the legendary Nimmerdor, appears once again in the third generation. The thoroughbred Courville xx, who has been so influential in the Netherlands, is also the sire of Jasper, who won the German Spring Derby in 1976 with Hugo Simon as “Little One.” His dam Kiaralda, line Merrielijn 3, fokfamilie 81, produced two other horses successful at 1.60 m in addition to Vigaro. His grandmother also produced four offspring that are successful at 1.60 m, including the internationally successful stallion Fighting Alpha/Lars Nieberg. The Holsteiner Amor (alias Heros) in the fourth generation was also one of the most influential sires in Dutch sport horse breeding.
Vigaro is an absolute world-class sire who brings a lot of canter, top reflexes, ability, and willingness to perform.
